A Look Inside Ambitious Home Renovation Projects

Renovating a Home

What we do

Transforming Spaces Inside

Renovating a home is both an art and a logistical challenge. From gutting outdated interiors to rebuilding them with fresh design and modern materials, these recent projects showcase just how dramatic—and rewarding—this transformation process can be. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at several ambitious renovations, what they looked like at the start, what was done, and the final results.

A Spa-Inspired Transformation

Walk-In Shower & Wet Room Conversion

Before:

  • • The room was in a raw concrete state with exposed plumbing, no finishes, and clearly undergoing demolition.

  • • Visible step-down levels suggested drainage adjustments for a walk-in shower or wet room layout.

What was done:

  • • Plumbing lines were embedded and waterproofing was applied.

  • • Neutral-toned large-format tiles were installed on both floors and walls.

  • • A minimal walk-in shower with a rainfall showerhead was added, blending seamlessly into the tiled space.

Final Look:

  • • Clean, modern, and easy to maintain.

  • • Monochrome palette creates a calm, spa-like effect.

  • • Highly functional layout with an open feel.

A Refined Retreat

The completed space is the epitome of modern bathroom design. With its clean lines, monochrome palette, and open layout, the new wet room delivers a tranquil, spa-like ambiance. The calming colour scheme softens the boldness of the contemporary finishes, creating a perfect balance between elegance and simplicity.

The walk-in shower is not only visually appealing but also highly functional, offering ease of access and effortless maintenance. It’s a space designed for relaxation and practicality—where every detail serves both aesthetic and purpose.

From Chlorine to Contemporary Living

Full Interior Demolition of a Pool Lounge

Transforming a pool lounge into usable, stylish living space requires more than just surface-level renovation—it demands a complete reimagining of the architecture and purpose of the room. This full-scale interior demolition project marks the beginning of such a transformation, setting the foundation for what promises to be a remarkable redefinition of space.

Before:

  • • The space was originally a tiled indoor pool with a blue and white colour scheme and old fittings.

  • • The ceiling and interior walls were stripped down, with electrical wiring exposed.

  • • A temporary rubbish chute was installed outside, indicating major material removal.

Demolition work had begun in earnest, with the ceiling and interior walls stripped down to the framework. Exposed electrical wiring crisscrossed the skeleton of the structure, revealing the bones of the building. Outside, a temporary rubbish chute (visible in photo 3) had been installed—a clear indicator of the heavy material removal required for such a significant overhaul.

What was done:

  • • Demolition included removing the upper structure and part of the wall separating the pool from the rest of the living area.

  • • Plumbing and electrical systems were rerouted.

  • • Walls were rebuilt and restructured for a future layout that likely no longer centres on the pool.

In Progress:

  • • Structural elements like pillars were preserved and re-integrated into the new design.

  • • Plumbing and electrical systems were rerouted.

A Vision for Modern Living

While the project remains mid-process, its direction is clear: this is a large-scale remodel with ambitious goals. The intent appears to be a full conversion of the former pool lounge into liveable square footage, potentially a sunken living room, a modern lounge, or even a multi-functional family space.

Structural elements such as pillars have been preserved and thoughtfully re-integrated, suggesting a balance between maintaining architectural integrity and embracing new design ideas. These elements will likely serve both a functional and aesthetic role in the final layout, offering visual interest while supporting the restructured space.

What was once an outdated indoor pool is now well on its way to becoming a dynamic, contemporary part of the home—tailored for comfort, flexibility, and modern style.

From Cluttered to Contemporary Elegance

Living Room Redesign

Redesigning a living space is about more than just aesthetics—it’s about creating an environment that feels cohesive, calming, and functional. In this recent transformation, a once-disjointed living room was reimagined into a stylish and welcoming area that effortlessly blends modern touches with timeless design.

Before:

Room
  • • The original room featured mismatched furniture, an green accent wall, and a partition that broke up the space inefficiently.

  • • The original living room setup was far from ideal.

  • • A combination of mismatched furniture created a fragmented and chaotic atmosphere.

  • • Perhaps the most disruptive element was a poorly placed partition, which awkwardly broke up the space and limited its functionality.

  • • The room lacked identity and balance, begging for a thoughtful redesign.

A Room in Need of Harmony

What was done:

Every successful redesign starts with a solid foundation. The first step was to prepare the space: patching imperfections in the walls and selecting a new colour palette. Calming tones of sage and crisp white replaced the previous scheme, instantly opening the room and bringing a sense of tranquillity.

To give the space a focal point, a modern fireplace surround was constructed. Painted in a contrasting shade, it anchors the room while introducing a contemporary architectural feature.

Throughout the renovation process, care was taken to protect the flooring, with paint buckets and floor coverings signalling that the work was both recent and carefully managed.

Final Look:

  • • A fresh, modern living area with a clean palette and defined architectural features.

  • • The green feature wall adds warmth and sophistication without overpowering the space.

A Space Reborn

The final result is a breath of fresh air. The redesigned living room now radiates a clean, modern vibe. Architectural details are clearly defined, allowing the eye to move smoothly through the space without interruption. The sage green feature wall adds a gentle warmth and a hint of sophistication, tying the entire design together without overwhelming the senses.

Gone are the mismatched furnishings and harsh colour contrasts—in their place is a harmonious living area that feels spacious, cohesive, and truly inviting. This redesign not only enhances the room's aesthetic appeal but also redefines how the space can be used and enjoyed.
